Broiler Rearing

                                        Broilers 

          

                                         Broiler chickens (Gallus gallus domestics), or broilers are gallinaceous domesticated fowl, bred and raised specifically for meat (chicken). They are hybrid of the egg-laying chickens, both being a subspecies of the red jungle fowl (Gallus gallus). Typically broilers have white feathers and yellowish skin. Broiler don't take longer period to be matured and ready for the market, most commercial broilers reach slaughter-weight at between 6 and 8 weeks of age.
Raising broilers chickens can put meat on your table quicker and with less effort than raising any other livestock. Rearing broilers is not expensive as layers because they are not reared in cages, but reared in large, open structure know as grow out house. Also much money will not be spend on feed due to their short period growth.

Depending on the farm size, broiler farming can be an important source of family income or can provide subsidiary income and gainful employment to farmers. Broiler dropping has high fertilizer value and can be used for increasing yield of crops. This is great opportunity for the youth to take this advantage, it requires low capital to invest in broilers, and there is faster and positive return from investment.
